O Emmy 2022 aconteceu na segunda-feira do dia 12, e a premiação das séries surpreendeu o público com a entrega das estatuetas aos ganhadores. Enquanto alguns nomeados favoritos receberam seus troféus, outros artistas e séries deixaram o público surpreso ao ir contra o que a maioria esperava. Nisso, produções como Euphoria, The White Lotus, Round 6, Ted Lasso e tantas outras saíram como vencedoras.
Além do mais, Succession foi a escolhida como Melhor Série de Drama no Primetime Emmy, o que consolidou em mais uma cerimônia a presença do seriado HBO no topo da lista. E falando sobre Round 6, a produção da Netflix fez história com as vitórias de Lee Jung-jae e do diretor Hwang Dong-hyuk. Em relação a Euphoria, Zendaya foi a vencedora como Melhor Atriz no Emmy pela segunda vez em sua carreira.
Entre as comédias, a série Abbott Elementary teve destaque com as vitórias de Quinta Brunson e da atriz Sheryl Lee Ralph. Ted Lasso, já citada acima, segue como uma das produções do gênero mais influentes dos últimos tempos ao vencer como Melhor Série de Comédia.
